I bought these luscious red begonias to decorate our summer escape forest campsite and they immediately stole my heart. Their oversized, velvety blooms were so mesmerizing, I found myself capturing them on camera endlessly—bathed in morning mist, glowing at midday, and softening into evening shadow. Each image revealed a new nuance in the reds: from ruby and wine to coral and flame. In this piece, I chose to highlight the blossoms' opulence against a shadowy, mysterious backdrop that echoes the serenity and stillness of the surrounding forest. The painting is both a love letter to these captivating blooms and a memory of peaceful moments spent in nature’s quiet embrace.
